Supportive Housing Training - Online
The Life Link Training Institute offering Basic and Advanced Supportive Housing Training.
These two day trainings will be held in multiple locations throughout the State in both urban and rural areas and will offer CEUs (Continuing Education Unit) credits for Peer Support Workers, Counselors and Social Workers. The purpose is to expand the knowledge about effective supportive housing service delivery practices to ensure the success of more vulnerable tenants in supportive housing programs.
The trainings, will cover the following topics: an overview of Supportive Housing principles and techniques; How to assist consumers to find, get and keep housing; the importance of offering a range of support services and service intervention techniques; the benefits of using Peers with housing expertise on a services team; the roles of the supportive housing partners (Services, Property Management and Local Lead Agencies); how to access subsidized housing and State funded and Federally funded housing programs in NM; addressing tenancy issues through eviction prevention planning and how to request a reasonable accommodation or modification. It will also provide guidance about the new Medicaid waiver designed to provide reimbursement for using Peers in Linkages program service delivery and home visits to tenants.
